Close detail of carved timber grain

About Icebreaker

We shape the
surface of a room.

A design-led woodcraft studio for clients who want doors, walls and panels to feel considered from every distance.

Our point of view

Craft should belong to the architecture.

We begin with proportion, movement and light. Ornament follows only when it strengthens those ideas — which keeps every piece expressive without feeling detached from the room around it.

Our catalogue is a starting vocabulary, not a fixed menu. A pattern can become quieter, deeper, wider or more intricate. The final work is developed around scale, material, site exposure and the way people move through the space.

What guides the work

Three standing rules.

01

Material honesty

Substrates, finishes and edge details are matched to the real demands of each application — not to whatever photographs best.

02

Made to measure

Dimensions, repeats and carving depth are resolved for the actual elevation rather than a generic module.

03

Quiet precision

Joints, transitions, lighting and hardware are considered so the installation reads as one complete surface.

Materials

Solid timber, HDHMR, MDF and fibre systems.

Material selection depends on scale, moisture, exposure, weight, carving depth and budget. Final specifications are confirmed after site and sample review.

Where the work goes

Homes, hospitality
and sacred spaces.

Entrances, feature walls, mandir surrounds, headboards, reception backdrops and ceiling coffers — anywhere a plane deserves more than paint.
